This movie is a little bit better than you would expect it to be. Not that you should have had low expectations because…well because Amy Schumer. I’m not going to lie to you, this movie is not for everyone and it is not a stellar standout and I probably won’t survive in my mind through the next season, but I’m glad I saw it anyway.
The acting was okay. It was what I expected from a cast of comedians. They aren’t going to win any awards for their performances. But that is okay because the characters were nice and the comradery between the cast’s strength was apparent. I really enjoy it when comedians I respect get together and make something fun like this.
The story was pretty straightforward. There wasn’t anything really special about it. It was a rom-com with a slight twist. The part that made the movie different was the brazen comedy. It was a series of standard plot points sewn together by brilliant one liners and enjoyable jokes. Did I laugh at all of them, nope. Did I enjoy myself enough that it was worth my time, yep.
This review is gonna be super short I guess. There isn’t much to talk about when a movie is what you expect with anything better or worse to talk about or pick apart.
Verdict: When this shoes up on Oxygen or something it will make a great girls night in flick. There is sex so beware of that. But it’s worth watching just to chuckle.
