Episode Review: Bachelorette, Season Kaitlyn, Week 1

We’re back!!!!!!!! I’m reviewing this week pretty late so I’m just going to group both nights together and I’m just going to give color commentary. First, let’s get a few things out-of-the-way. The guys picked Kaitlyn over Britt and I am fine with that. Britt has great initial appeal but Kaitlyn will keep the season from being a soap opera…in theory. But they already told us…Kaitlyn has sex with someone on the season and doesn’t pretend like she didn’t. So buckle up kids.

Let’s meet the men. Continue reading

Movie Review: The Longest Ride (2015)

Do I even need to say “spoilers”? How do people review movies with any detail without spoilers?

Saddle up, folks, for another cliché love story from the only person allowed to write sappy cliché love stories apparently. But while it is cliché at least it avoided being crass by avoiding overt innuendos to “riding, long, bulls, mount, etc”.

And the movie is actually pretty decent. If you don’t know anything else about me know this, I don’t mind a cliché one bit if it is entertaining enough that I don’t regret not using the run time to sleep instead. This movie delivered enough value Continue reading

Movie Review: The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel (2015)

Okay Hollywood, you did it. You made me like Dev Patel as an actor. Bra-vo. I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. It could have fallen flat but it didn’t and the results is a movie worth owning.

What worked in this movie:

-Dev. I didn’t like him in Slumdog Millionaire and his career went downhill from there. I mean really, Avatar? I thought I would go my entire life thinking he was nothing but a stereotype actor that did an okay job with a movie that got way more praise than it deserved and would never be good enough to be worth any job he landed. Continue reading

Movie Review: Cinderella (2015)

Do you remember watching the animated version of this move? Remember the “oh how nice” feeling that you got from it? Well the made that movie with real people and very few changes.

This movie was like a weekend for my brain. It didn’t have the excitement and brilliance of a vacation for my brain movie but it definitely was enjoyable.

Here’s what I didn’t like about this movie. Continue reading

Movie Review: McFarland, USA (2015)

Boy oh boy did I enjoy this movie and trust me, I am not normally a fan of sports movies. I ran Cross Country for six years. Coaches love to show movies about runners. Did you know that there is more than one movie about Steve Prefontaine? Or that there are other successful long distance runners with movies about them besides Steve Prefontaine? Yeah. And I’ve seem more than my fair share because nothing says team bonding like being forced to watch a running movie. But y’all, if this had been the movie I was forced to watch I would not be so jaded.

Let me tell you what makes this movie different from other sports movies. First, Continue reading
